Community service is an act of kindness by giving back to the society, especially to those who are in need. The team decided that they will be working together to help owner of the animal shelter and stray animals that are roaming on the streets during the Covid-19 pandemic by doing a crowdfunding for PAWS organisation. An animal shelter requires a substantial amount of money to operate and purchase basic needs such as food and medications to ensure they are at their tip top condition before being adopted by the public. The Covid-19 outbreak has caused animal shelters to fade out from the public’s spotlight as most of the citizens have been affected financially due to the pandemic. The implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO) has also affected the ability of animal shelter workers to carry out their tasks in maintaining the animal shelter. At the same times, they received lesser donation from the public due to restriction of movement order during MCO. Moreover, the stray animals that were roaming on the street might spread diseases, attack humans and rummaging through rubbish which caused serious hygiene issue and safety issue to the public. Hence, animal shelter plays an important roles in the society. The objective of this project is to reach out to a Non-Profit Organisation (NGO) animal shelter and create a crowdfunding page in order to raise the awareness of the needs of an animal shelter during the Covid-19 pandemic while also help raise funds to maintain the animal shelter. All money collected from the crowdfunding campaign will go directly to PAWS animal shelter in having the means to buy basic and essential needs of the animals. The team expects the crowdfunding campaign to run smoothly. The crowdfund was expected to start from 5th July 2020 and last for 6 weeks before transferring the money to PAWS organisation.

Coconut, which has high utilization value is the main ingredient in this project. However, most of the coconut shell waste is thrown away due to the lack of knowledge of the coconut milk sellers’ on proper ways to dispose them.
