It was over a year and a half ago that we launched our crowdfunding for The Tides Will Decide. Since then, we've been so happy with the response from our audience and the many places it has screened. This was all possible because of your support.
Today, we launched a crowdfunding for a new project that needs attention.
FALSE SUMMITS
4 years ago, the life of Raja Azlan Shah Raja Abdul Aziz was tragically lost on Gunung Tahan. His story left many questions unanswered and had a lasting impact, especially on his family and friends. We can only imagine the pain of not knowing what has happened to our loved ones, and the difficulty of living with it.
Through careful research and by retracing his steps on Gunung Tahan, this film aims to present a thoughtful, fact-based reconstruction of what happened.
We believe stories like this should be documented and remembered, and would like to invite you to support the project.
We will be bringing on board the same team that produced The Tides Will Decide and have opted for the fixed funding option. This means if we are unable to raise our target amount of RM20,000, all contributions will be returned.

We are very proud to announce that THE TIDES WILL DECIDE will make its World Premiere at the 8th Malaysia International Film Festival next month.
The documentary will be screening under the Manifesto section and will have two (2) screenings between 19-27 July 2025. The film will qualify for the Audience Choice Award, which gives audiences the opportunity to vote for their favourite films.
Since its inception in 2016, MIFFest has grown into Malaysia’s largest-scale film festival, becoming the focal point of the Malaysian film industry every July. Rooted in the nation’s cultural heritage, MIFFest is a vital platform for diverse voices and talents, bridging local and international filmmakers through a shared love of cinema. By spotlighting stories that reflect contemporary times and fostering artistic freedom, MIFFest plays a crucial role in regional cinema, discovering new talents and creating fresh opportunities that enrich cultural dialogue.

Our aim is to get this story watched by as many people as possible. We have begun submitting it for consideration to several film festivals and plan to do so for the remainder of the year. By doing this, we hope Priscilla's story will reach a wider audience and inspire more people.

What started out as an idea to make a simple, DIY documentary has blossomed into something special and better than we could've imagined. This could not have happened without all of your support. We'd like to express how much it means to us to have gotten across the line and to be able to tell Priscilla's story.
In commemoration with the 20th anniversary of the 2004 tsunami, we will be having a limited (private) online screening for all our backers in December. We will share more details in the coming weeks.
For now, please share the joy with us for being part of a successful campaign. As a token of our appreciation, we'd like to share the official poster, designed by the director himself. Please keep it private for now until we release it to the public tomorrow night!

It's been over a month since our last update.
There is a slight delay in our timeline as we are spending more time finalizing the picture. However, we have already locked in place our audio post production team. We cannot reveal them yet but their latest project was for Amazon Prime Video. Audio post production begins towards the end of October.
Our target date of completion of end of November remains unchanged.
We will have another update for you in a couple of weeks time!

We are working steadily towards assembling the final picture to form the story. Due to the amount of footage of interviews captured, we are carefully ensuring we craft the best possible narrative. We are scheduled to begin audio post production by October!

Over the last 5 days, our team was in Terengganu to wrap up the re-enactment scenes and the final interviews. Now, we will begin the post production stage where we will craft all the footage we have captured into a story. We are so excited how everything is coming along nicely!

An update on what we've been upto the past week for The Tides Will Decide!
We concluded the remaining KL interviews and are prepping for the last stretch of filming that will take place in Terengganu. This block of filming includes re-enactment scenes of the events leading up to the tsunami. Everything is on track and we hope to wrap up our shooting by mid of this month.
We've also begun planning for the post production phase, reaching out to suitable industry peers to come on board our project. We hope to have a more certain timeline of completion in the next few updates.

Just dropping a little update on the progress of 'The Tides Will Decide'.
Over the past two weeks, our team began filming key interviews which will be inserted into the documentary. We still have several more people to interview before we prepare to shoot the re-enactment scenes. Earlier this week, we had a location scouting trip to Terengganu which will be the location for the final block of filming in early August. As of now, we are on schedule and are working hard towards sifting through the footage and forming a story.
Attached are some photos of our filming, the location scouting trip and part of the storyboard for the re-enactments (done by our Art lead, Qistina!).
