Purpose

The purpose of this crowdfunding project is to give a helping hand to orphans and disabled people from YouShan Disable Welfare Center which is located at Petaling Jaya, Selangor. We will take the donations funds from this campaign to provide them with cash and daily necessities such as diapers, rice, cooking oil, biscuits, and so on. Especially during the pandemic of Covid-19, these orphans and disabled people are underprivileged and extremely vulnerable. Therefore, we hope through this crowdfunding project we can raise funds to help them. 

Our target group is all orphans and disabled people from YouShan Disable Welfare Center which is located at Petaling Jaya, Selangor. YouShan Disable Welfare Center is a charity home for unfortune children and people with disabilities. YouShan Disable Welfare Center is a non-profit or non-government that makes an indirect contribution to society. The mission of YouShan Welfare Charity is to provide free accommodation and comprehensive care to all of people, regardless of religious, beliefs, ethnicity, culture background or gender. Besides, YouShan Disable Welfare Center is also giving them basic education and education activities in order to assist them develop their strengths and build up their self-confidence. YouShan Disable Welfare Center currently has now adopted 30 disabled people and children, with the number is still continuing to rise.

Introduction

In order to complete the course assessment for GA30203 Corporate Finance, the final year students are required to create a crowdfunding project. SUNSHINE crowdfunding is to raise fund from kind-hearted people for the orphans and disabled people from “YouShan Disable Welfare Center” through mystartr online crowdfunding platform. This crowdfunding project is working together with five members of students from HE19 International Finance from Universiti Sabah Malaysia Labuan International Campus. We name our crowdfunding as “SUNSHINE” because we strongly believe SUNSHINE crowdfunding can be warm like the ray of sun which can provide emotional and physical needs for them, especially current economic difficulties.

Objectives

The main objective of this crowdfunding campaign is to create awareness at the community level and provide a financial assistant to YouShan Disable Welfare Center orphans and disabled people. Through this crowdfunding project we will spread awareness via social media such as facebook and instagram to raise fun from kind-hearted people.

Estimate Expenses

If the money raised does not reach the target, the fund donated to the YouShan Disable Welfare Center will be reduced and the donation of food and necessities for the orphanages and disabled people will be reduced to a lower quality of products for the orphanages. On the other hand, if funds collected through the crowdfunding platform exceed the targeted amount, the donation of the daily necessity and money will be increased to improve the quality of living of the vulnerable group.

 

This project is an assignment of the students in University Malaysia Sabah, Labuan Faculty of International Finance, and may not be suitable for everyone.
