早在20世纪90年代，阿弥陀佛援助总会已经开始关注遗弃老人的事件。成立至今已服务了超过230名孤老。我们提供免费住宿、膳食及医药护理等。不仅照顾年长者的基本生活需求，更侧重兼顾老人家的心里卫生。我们希望能让年老无依的高龄者能在这里更积极快乐地面对人生，身心健康地颐养天年。

Since the 19990s, Amitabha Malaysia has begun to notice the issue of elderly abandonment. Amitabha Malaysia has sheltered more than 230 elderlies since then. We provide these elderlies in need with free accommodation, meals and medical treatment. We not only care about their daily needs, but also emphasize on their mental wellbeing. We hope our elderlies-in-need may continue living their lives positively and enjoy their golden ages.

现今老龄化问题日趋严重，老年人的福利受到了社会的关注。而阿弥陀佛援助总会的敬老院服务理念：“守仁德之心敬老，尊诚信之本敬业”也得到大众认可，为养老慈善项目的发展贡献出了一份绵力。

The aging problem and elderly's welfare draw a lot of attention recently. The philosophy of Amitabha Malaysia Caring Shelter, "Love & Respect the Elderly, Dedicate & Contribute to the Society" receives recognition from the public as a charitable endowment project devoted to the aging group.

贫病交迫、孑然一身、乏人接济照顾、或是被亲人子女遗弃的老人问题在现今社会日益增加。由于上门救助者的人数有增无减，床位已不敷所求。普陀村敬老院希望近期能扩充，率先增加约50个床位应急；同时亦改善室内因光线不足显得阴暗潮湿，许多设施与配备已陈旧不堪等等问题。古来敬老院将进行大改造，晋升为更专业的慈善安老中心!

Nowadays, the problem of elderlies who are poor, sick or who have been abondoned by their children and relatives are increased. Due to icreasing number of help-seekers, Old Folks Home hope that through this expansion can incease 50 beds to shelter more helpless seniors, simultaneously improve indoor lighting, upgrade facilities & fittings etc. We're planning for a facelift to give the elderly a better home!
