What they need is a sense of purpose, doing beneficial activities and being involved in urban farming may be a green therapy for them.
Through urban farming, senior citizens can be more healthy and it will act as a form of green therapy for them as well as aiding them to contribute back to the society even in their ripe age. With the advance in healthcare system and medical technology, the population life expentancy increase which results in number of old people in Malaysia to rise. In fact, according to The Star, the number of people aged 65 and above in Malaysia was about two million or 6.3% of the total population as of 2017. .
Our team are consist of three senior citizens from Pusat Aktiviti Warga Emas (PAWE), two lecturers and three students from Multimedia University (MMU) Cyberjaya. We are an intergenerational team who wants to help bring some shine to the lives of the elderly in need. Help us work towards a greener future!
