Project Description
The marine environment is degrading rapidly, and lack of awareness from the locals, especially the villagers who lives in the coastal areas are happening in an alarming rate. Much effort is needed to be done in order to ensure everyone is aware of what is happening so they can practice their roles in conserving the sea. Nature Warrior's main goal is to raise awareness among the public, especially the people residing near the coast. Furthermore, we aim to sustain the biodiversity of marine life for a prolonged period as well.
International volunteers will involve in Nature Warrior project for six weeks. Throughout the six weeks, they will carry out a series of activities in Sabah.
1. Educational Workshop
To share the awareness among volunteers about the importance of concerning the environment.
2. Coral Planting
Volunteers will need to dive into the sea and plant coral fragments to seabed.
3. Mangrove seedling replant and wetland restoration programme
To let volunteers have a hands-on practice on managing mangrove wetlands.
4. Beach clean up and wetland clean up
Volunteers help to clean up the beach and wetland by removing debris, pollutants and ghost nets in the sea.

I am a degree student of University Malaysia Sabah, under partnership development of Nature Warrior at Sabah project. As we found that the importance in conserving the environment is not well understood by society and the public shows less concern about the polluted environment, we decided to organize "Nature Warrior" project to tackle this issue in Malaysia. We want to make a difference by providing a sustainable environment and act on the degrading environment.
