What this project is about?
Live with Dietitian: What You Say? is a talk-based program that provides nutrition information to the community about a proper diet and healthy lifestyle. In collaboration with Allied Health Sciences Students’ Society (HEALS) and Klinik Diet @ KAHS, UIAM Kuantan, three dietitians will be invited as speakers to share the knowledge regarding diet and nutrition. This project will be conducted in three-session starting from 19th March 2021 until 7th May 2021 through a virtual platform which is Youtube and it is open to the public.
Our Objectives
The aims of this program are to provide evidence-based nutrition information and promoting well- being for individuals of all ages by increasing awareness regarding healthy diet by certified dietitians. Plus, it also serves as a platform for the students and public to share their opinions and asked questions related to diet and nutrition. In addition, the goal of this program also is to provide dietary guidelines in preparation for Ramadhan and Eid Ul Fitr.
What you should know?
In this program, three dietitians will be invited to talk about three different topics for each session. The first topic is “Intermittent Fasting: An Effective Strategy or Latest Dieting Trend?” As many people eager to lose weight in a short period of time, they tend to follow the fad diet such as intermittent fasting. However, they normally do not aware that some diets actually can be dangerous to their health. Thus, in this session, the dietitian discussed and unravelled the problems regarding this dieting practice which became the question of many people. This session was held on 19th March 2021.
The topic for the second session is “Ramadhan: Fasting or Feasting?”. In this session, the dietitian shared the best way of diet practices during Ramadhan as many people tend to look lightly about their diet and nutrition during fasting.
The last session which will be held on 7th May will talk about dietary tips and recommendations during Eid Ul Fitr. We hope that all participants can benefit the most throughout this program as well as apply the knowledge in their daily lives continuously. You can visit our Youtube channel: Klinik Diet KAHS UIAM to check these videos out.
