ABOUT PROJECT
We are final year students from Universiti Malaysia Sabah Kampus Antarabangsa Labuan (UMSKAL). We are eager to help senior citizens who barely have income and facing financial difficulties in order to solve their pressing needs. Not only that, we are a group of students who believe that giving back to the community within our capabilities is one of our social responsibilities. We are cooperate with Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat to provide some channel for us to reach with senior citizens in Labuan. Indeed, we hope to do something meaningful and pleased to have this opportunity to help to raise funds in order to help the senior citizens in need in Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan throughout this assignment. Therefore, our objectives of this crowdfunding project are we can make a contribution and difference, even it is only a small scale in society by cooperation among us. In addition, charity and love warms the heart, let them know that there are still people who care about their well-being. As long as everyone contribute and gives a love, the world will become a peaceful and harmonious place to live.
Background of JKM:
JKM was established in April 1946 and their mission is to "Empowering the community in need of social welfare". Hence, we choose to cooperate with Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat to provide some channel for us to reach with senior citizens in Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan. We hope to give helping hands and do our best to help the senior citizens in Labuan, help them to improve their living standard and provide them food and nutritions through this crowdfunding. We hope we can at least help them solve their urgent daily needs and make their lives better.
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we have to switch and conduct phone call interview instead of face to face with these three senior citizen to know their living conditions. The three senior citizens that we get the channel from JKM are Abdul Hamid Bin Lukil@ Tukil ( 84 years old), Lee Voon Tong (75 years old) and Chung Set Lee@ Cecilia (87 years old). Three of them are retired, so there is no fixed income for them to cover their expenses. They are only apply for JKM and use the funds that provided by JKM every month to support their monthly living expenses. Therefore, we wish that we can achieve the targeted funds in order to help the senior citizens in Labuan that in need. We hope to use the funds to solve their basic and daily needs as well as utility bills for months.
Hence, your fundings are greatly appreciated and mean a lots to the senior citizens. With your kind and generous donations, we believe that it could bring a huge impact to them.
Objective:
Through the phone interview, we know them better and can get more information about them. So we aim to:
- Help the senior citizen to have a healthier life because we just know that the senior citizen having an unbalanced dietary habits which leads to a decline to their immunity system and have to rely on supplements to maintain their health.
- Help the senior citizen reduce the financial burden as some of them don’t have child to support and cover their expenses.
- Help the senior citizen to have a better quality of life.

Responsibility:
- Project leader (YONG YIEN LING) is responsible to lead the team and communicate with the outsiders of there have any problems. Project leaders have all the responsibility when problems coming through and to help the team to have a great teamwork between the teammate.
- Secretary (LIM PEI CHING) is responsible to help the project leader to resolve the difficulties when the project leader need any help and also responsible for giving advice.
- Treasure (NG QIAN QIAN) is responsible to manage the inflow and outflow of money and detailed financial information.
- Public relation (EVAN GOH WAI LENG) is responsible to maintain a good public image of our team and the image of our partner’s public image.
- Publicity (NG JOE YEN) is responsible to promoting our projects in the media so that we can achieve our goals perfectly

RISKS AND CHALLENGES
The only risk is:
- If we don’t hit our funding goal, we are forced to reduce the amount of funds for the three senior citizens. The total fund that we raised will be allocated equally to the three senior citizens.
What happens to any excess funding?
- Any excess funding for this campaign will be allocated equally to the three senior citizens.
