We are currently in the middle of our Pre-production phase on Kabus Indah. Shooting will begin on the 21^st of November 2020. There are many task, discussion, decisions and planning in motion as we speak. Therefore, we can’t offer a look of the short film in detail as we are in a very early stages of Pre-production. However, we will keep an update on our IG account which is @kabusindah. Teaser trailers, official posters and announcements will be updated there. Kabus Indah tells a story about Adam, a librarian who falls in love with Julia, a bookworm from his neighborhood. They shared a huge passion for fantasy stories especially Harry Potter. After two years being together, they live a normal and happy married life. After learning that Universal Studios Japan will be opening its Harry Potter World, they set out a piggy bank to save money for their trip to Japan. They participate in a short novel writing competition in hopes to win the grand prize of a large sum of money that they'll use for their expenses to Japan. but Adam soon learn that time is running out for both him and Julia.

The story expands about 12 years of the characters’ lives.  Kabus Indah is about love, dream and time. Julia has always been a fan of the wizarding world of Harry Potter. After learning that there is a theme park dedicated to that world, it became a life long dream. Her hope to see ‘Hogwarts’ reflect dreams and ambitions that we have in all of us. Further into the story of Kabus Indah, we’ll learned that Julia is suffering from a brain disease that result in a severe memory loss from time to time. As the clock is ticking, Adam has to pick up his pace to finish his short novel in hopes to win the competition that will be their ticket to Japan before Julia forgets what Hogwarts is. Will Adam manage to finish writing his short novel? Will Julia get to see Hogwarts? We’ll need your support in funding us in order for us to answer those questions through the short film itself.

One of the key elements in this particular story is the Harry Potter element. This is because the heart and soul of the story is Julia’s love towards Harry Potter. Therefore, we’ll be needing a large amount of budget to accommodate the production design. The props, wardrobe and set dressings are all going to be influenced through elements that exist within the Harry Potter world. Besides that, we’ll be renting an apartment or a studio to be filmed as the characters’ house which 90 percent of the shooting location will be in that particular house. As many of us already know, making a film is certainly costly and even more so if you’re a student. Thus, we narrow down the budget cost as below;

Based on this breakdown, there will be a RM800 balance which will be allocated for contingency as well as preparing for rewards.

The creative team of Kabus Indah are small. We are all students from the National Academy of Arts Culture and Heritage, ASWARA.  Certainly, we will add more talented individuals to work with us along the way.

This will be my directorial debut. Going to the cinema has always been a huge part of my life. I always look forward to the next film that I know I want to see on the big screen. Growing up, I never knew that stories could have such a huge impact in our lives. Movies was seen as purely entertainment. But I realize that films have a voice and purpose. With Kabus Indah, I hope to touch people’s heart. I am by no means a great filmmaker but I wish to spread love and compassion through this visual medium.

Within the film making world, creative collaboration between talented individuals are essential. Through the process of crafting a film, it’ll create a sense of community as well as an opportunity to showcase our expertise. The art of cinematography has always been like painting a picture using lights that will have its own visual aesthetic and emotional effect.  I hope Kabus Indah will carve a smile to whoever is watching and inspire them to chase their dreams.

Editing has always been part of my life. I started editing when I was in high school for school event opening ceremony video. Plus, my love for movies is one of the pushes that I continue video editing as my true passion. Then I decided to start my so called "career" on YouTube with the channel named 'Forrester96'. And now, I had edited many fan-trailers, short films and a music video since I started this journey.

Every film has its director, and every director needs its editor. The editor is the one that will make the "magic" happened; The person who will combine the footages into a single video with an immersive storytelling and definitive narration. That is why I believe that editor is in a way, the final director of the film itself as we 're the one who will stitch everything into a complete recipe.

 In term of challenges, it all comes down to time and money. Without sponsorships or any collaboration with brands or agency, we are struggling to make decisions such as booking a place to shoot or preparing the necessary needs to equip the production. In result, many of our creative decisions will be compromised. Just like any other students or creative endeavors out there, we share the same hope and dream to deliver a high-quality product to the public. However, we won’t be able to utilize our fullest potential without any financial support. As shooting days getting closer, we are running out of time.  Therefore, we seek out to you; the generous souls that are reading this at the moment.
