INDUSTRY OVERVIEW
The tourism industry has undergone rapid growth of unsurpassed nature over the last several decades. This has mainly been due to the advent of a ‘borderless’ world and increased information dissemination about the majestic sceneries throughout the world, with the South East Asia countries being no exception.
Malaysia too, is on the brink of penetrating a lucrative market in the rapidly growing tourism industry. The current trend towards an increase in the number of tourists entering the country presents an opportunity for JOYZRIDE to penetrate the market.
The modern travellers are looking for more value-added services and interesting tour packages rather than the ordinary ‘mass tours’ provided by many tour operators. Presently, the tourism and travel industry are still pretty much operated in the conventional model, whereas the pre-prepared and fixed itineraries and standard tours do not give sufficient importance or significance to cater for the specific needs of different travellers.
Moreover, travellers are shifting from buying consumer products to buying experiences, especially consumers from Hong Kong, Japan, Republic of Korea, Singapore and Taiwan. As a result, demand for Personalised Tour Services (PTS) with interactive experience is on the rise. What’s more, the following are the key trends observed across the Asia-Pacific region:
WHAT IS JOYZRIDE
At Joyzride, we revolutionize private tour chauffeur service with an online reservation system that matches tourist with their preferred chauffeur to enjoy an immersive yet personalized travel experience.
WHAT PROBLEM WE SOLVE
We focus on solving the problem faced by most tourist when they are travelling in Malaysia, starting with their transportation needs. Tourist nowadays prefers tailor-made private tour or immersive travel experience instead of following tour packages typicalled offered by travel agency.
Firstly, they are not familiar with the local cultures and may have language barrier.
Secondly, they tend to look for someone that can be their translator, driver and guide, but don't know the quality and background of the chauffeur.
Last but not least, if possible, tourist wants a private chauffeur based on their preference such as language, experience, hobby and talent.
Hence, Joyzride was founded.
A synergy of key personnel from various background from the private tour chauffeur service provider industry, to digital marketing and information technology, as well as collaborations and partners in the tourism and hospitality industry.

BUDGETING AND KPI
For the first phase, the fund we raised will be attributed as follow :
The KPI we set for our first phase is to achieve 60 transactions per month, at an average value of RM1500/transaction within 6 months.
We have soft launched our website on May 2018. To date, we have recorded a healthy double-digit growth sales of RM13,460 in May, RM21,380 in June and is on-track to continue this momentum as we see the potential growth of the customers.
Worldwide economy slow down
We have conducted a study from the past 10 years, despite the world economy slow down, Malaysia's travel industry is actually quite resillient and growing steadily every year, and tourist spending power is also increasing. As of 2016, Malaysia recorded 27 million in tourist arrival, spending RM82 billion during their stay in Malaysia. On average, each tourist stay for 3 days and spend approximately RM3000.00 in Malaysia.
Lack of public awareness of our platform
As we are a new start up, we lack brand awareness of our platform. Recently, we have initiated talks for collaboration with various industry players from the travel industry, banking and financial institutions for our up coming promotional packages.
AI and threat from grab / uber
We noticed that the giant players are moving towards artificial intelligence (AI), driverless or satelite driven car system in their future. However, feedback from our partners and customers in the travel industry, they would still prefer the human touch and the locals to accompany them on their travels. Therefore we're highlighting our individual chauffeur personality, special skills and talents, such as, their ability to speak fluent Japanese, good photography, or serenade guests with their guitar or ukulele. Thus, its one of our key features at Joyzride to allow tourist to select their preferred chauffeur.
