Logline of the film:
Family drama unravels when an elderly woman in 'her' 60s falls for her next door neighbour.
Synopsis:
Leha, a 65-year-old widow who is living alone in a village secretly having a romantic relationship with Musa, her opposite neighbor. Have been keeping it as a secret for past few years, Musa sugggests to reveal the relationship but Leha disagree with it. Set in comedy genre, things gone wrong when Musa insist to meet Leha publicly. The neighbors start to talk about them. It becomes much more challenging for Leha when her granddaughter, Aini is visiting her while facing up the neighborhood gossips about her relationship.

Jenguk is a lighthearted film and heart warming tale about this pair of elderly falling in love. It is also filled with humours and comedic elements that I have every intention of fully exploiting. These days, we see a lot of love stories among teens or adults falling in love. But rarely we saw elderly people falling in love and they deserved to fall in love regardless how old they are. My story was inspired by my grandmother who lost her husband 23 years ago. I was staying with her during my school years and without me knowing her next door neighbour who was this old grandpa who was also a widowed had a crush on her. I find those flirty moments between them and how they turn into a childlike and playfully brings them closer and that is when my grandma starts to have feelings for this grandpa. I find those interactions between them so innocent and funny that inspire me to make this film. People tend to forget about old people and about their happiness and just because they are old doesn't mean they don't get to fall in love again even after losing their husband or wife. Love is a subjective thing regardless how old you are. Everyone deserves to feel or fall in love. I like to tell stories about people who inspire me and who I believe inspire others too. The main reason why I make films and enjoy watching films is because I want to entertain the audience . I hope the audience will find this film “Jenguk “ meaningful and nostalgic yet still manage to be entertaining to them.

Why we need the amount of budget?
This is our budget breakdown where you can see where the budget will be allocated to.
PRODUCTION- Why we allocated most of the budget in production line is to support:
Technical Department-Equipment Rental which included Camera, Lighting and Grip.
Art Department- To make sure director's vision can be present through visual clearly, Production Designer will need props, wardrobe and set deck which are suitable for the story.
Logistic- The production will be take place at Sekinchan, Selangor. We need to allocate budget to support the fees and permits for the respective locations, foods, beverages and accommodation for the cast and crew.
CAST- We have 2 main characters and 2 supporting characters for the film, we will be inviting professional actors to act in our film that is where we need to pay them for 3 days production.
POST PRODUCTION- We will be having Sound Designer and Colorist to enhance the vibe of the world of story and the experience of watching for the audiences.

Sinopsis Filem Jenguk:
Leha, seorang nenek dan juga janda yang tinggal berseorangan di kampung dalam diam mempunyai hubungan romantis dengan Musa, jiran depan rumah. Telah pun berjaya menyimpan rahsia hubungan tersebut selama beberapa tahun, Musa berhasrat untuk menghebohkan hubungan itu namun Leha tidak bersetuju.
Dalam drama yang penuh komedi ini, perkara jadi tidak keruan apabila Musa menolak untuk berjumpa dengan Leha di khalayak umum. Jiran-jiran mula bercerita tentang mereka. Keadaan bertambah rumit apabila Aini, Cucu kepada Leha melawat neneknya itu dalam keadaan Leha dicemuh oleh jiran-jirannya disebabkan hubungan dia dengan Musa.
RISKS AND CHALLENGES
Making film in the pandemic period is not easy especially for us, the students that do not have huge budget to carry out the production. We need to follow the SOP that had been set by the government and school to make the safety on set and off set.
To make a story about old couple is a challenge for us because old people do not behave like the youngsters. The team need to do more research to make sure the story goes well.
In Malaysia, films that talks about ole couple's love story is not mainstream but with this risk we believe that we can breakthrough the challenges and present a unique story not only to the local audiences but people from all around the world will get to know more about Malaysia's KAMPUNG culture.
