We engineering students from Taylor's University. Our vision is to create a world where everyone can connect and collaborate to bring life changing ideas into reality!
Incupe is a project sharing platform aimed to connect project developers such as engineering students who are working on amazing and innovative projects.
Our goal is to connect project developers to share ideas and learning experiences so that we can all build on top of each other's ideas.
Have you ever wondered where are all the projects that university engineering students did or what have they done? No, we are not talking about random science projects like sliding a toy car down a slope to measure acceleration or friction. We are talking about innovative projects which may have the potential to change lives of others like braille translator and amphibious human powered vehicle showed below.

The challenge is, these projects, along with their work such as research and design "disappear" after students submit their work for assessments. Other students will not be able to access these projects. So, a lot of learnings, experiences, failures discovered will all disappear too!
Looking beyond just students, what about enthusiastic people from all around the world who work on these kinds of projects?
When we come up with ideas similar (or almost similar) to what have been done before, we have no clue! We risk going through the same failures and mistakes as what others went through and the cycle goes on for others who come up with similar ideas too.
This wastes time and money!
So our team aims to create a platform where people can share not just their projects but their learning experiences as well so that we can all work together to bring ideas forward.
We do not have an official launch date. We started introducing the website to friends we know before eventually introducing it to our peers in Taylor's University's School of Engineering in Dec 2016. Today, 107 up users have signed up for an account and 56 projects were uploaded to Incupe.
We are seeking funds to help us grow and keep Incupe's website up and running and to improvise it.
The fund will be used to purchase paid hosting because we are sick of unstable uptime by free hosting providers! Besides that, the fund will also be used to purchase SSL certificate, in other words, going from http to https. This is important to ensure our users' data such as passwords is handled securely to prevent prying eyes.
As a website, Incupe.com faces the risks of being compromised by hackers.
Besides that, Incupe.com is currently hosted for free under free hosting plan and we face several challenges:
With your funding, we are hoping to purchase a paid hosting. With this paid hosting, we will also purchase an SSL certicate. This certificate allows the website to transfer data between client computers with servers more securely and avoid prying eyes of people with malicious intentions.
One of major challenges we are facing right now is many students find it troublesome to submit (by uploading) their work to both Taylor's University's official student portal and Incupe. Therefore, our team is in the midst of negotiating with Taylor's University's School of Engineering to implement Incupe.com as the official portal for students to submit their projects' work.
