I'm the project manager for Liter of Light Malaysia. To date, we've installed 931 solar powered lights, impacting the lives of 2927 Malaysians living in rural areas without electricity.
Did you come here to support either one of these campaigns?
Their campaigns have been closed, but don't worry! You can still donate to this campaign in order to unlock their challenges.

Together with more than 40 volunteers we'll drive deep into the jungle and the install solar powered lights for Hasim and his neighbors. You can be one those volunteers, just pick the right perk.
Hasim lives with his wife, their 4 children and 4 nephews in a 2-bedroom house. 3 of the young kids go to kindergarten where they have to pay 10RM each per month. The rest of them, aged 15-22, can't go to school but have to work odd jobs to help the family get by.
Imagine having to light up your home with candles and sometimes even bonfires. You can’t go outside because the risk of running into dangerous, wild animals is real. And studying at night is nearly impossible.
This is how Hasim's family and his neigbors in Kampung Teras live their daily lives. No electricity. Ever.
Having light at night is a matter of life or death to them. It makes going out at night safe, helps the kids to study, and brings the people closer together. Join us in our mission to give them light at night, so they won’t have to sit in darkness during Christmas, or ever again.
Liter of Light Malaysia is raising funds to light up the home of every family in Kampung Teras. So pick on of the special crafted perks and #givelight to Hasim's family and his neigbors, so they can spend Christmas like you and I do. Don't they deserve that?
In the map you can see a detailed map of the houses in Kampung Teras and the lights we'll be installing to light them up. Help make it happen!
Their campaigns may have been closed, but donating to this campaign (Hasim's family) will still contribute to unlocking their full challenges. View their challenges here.
We have done this project 21 times before. We know what we're doing.
The only risk is:
What happens to any excess funding?
