PERFECTLY MATCHED ?! is a drama production of Performing Arts Centre of Penang (penangpac) in May 2015. It tells a story about sexual politics in marriage, in which a man persuades his suicidal wife that an open relationship is politically correct and embarks on dalliances with younger women, to her dismay and fury. 

《開放夫妻》是檳城表演藝術中心的戲劇製作，將於 2015 年 5 月上演，講述一位丈夫說服妻子接受婚姻「開放關係」的概念，並且不要再因為他出軌而鬧自殺的故事。

PERFECTLY MATCHED ?! is the 5th production of penangpac's in-house director Wong Lay Chin since the opening of the centre on 11 Nov 2011. In her previous productions, Lay Chin entertained the local audiences with her high-quality pieces and she also tried to encourage the usage of Penang Hokkien through her plays, such as A WIDOW, A SPINSTER & A TOMBOY (2012, in Teochew, Penang Hokkien and Mandarin), THE TYPIST (2013, in Penang Hokkien and Cantonese), THE DAY I MET THE PRINCE (2014, in English, Malay, Penang Hokkien, ect) and this year, PERFECTLY MATCHED ?! (in Penang Hokkien and Mandarin). We believe through local languages, our audiences will be able to enjoy the show better as if the story is happening among them.

《開放夫妻》是檳城表演藝術中心駐館導演 黃麗珍自 2011 年 11 月 11 日 中心開館以來第五個戲劇作品，黃麗珍過去的水準之作已經成功把更多觀眾帶入劇場，尤其她致力於作品之中推廣使用檳城本土福建話，如 2012 年《三個女人一個墟》（潮州話、檳城福建話與華語）、2013 年《打字經》（檳城福建話、廣東話）2014 年《我要上天的那一晚》（英語、馬來語、檳城福建話等）以及即將在今年 5 月推出的《開放夫妻》（檳城福建話、華語）。我們相信，唯有透過本地方言才能讓觀眾更親近劇場，並且更能感受劇中人物的喜、怒、哀、樂。

As a performing arts centre in Penang, penangpac is willing to take its responsibility to cultivate local performing arts scene, but we are also facing a very common difficulty as the other arts centres do, which is the short of fund. A production in the scale like PERFECTLY MATCHED ?! will cost us around RM 5000, hence, reviewing our past experiences, the money we earned from the ticket sale could hardly cover the expenses, let alone trying to convince our local artists with higher pay to stay put in Penang. As a non-profit organisation, we urge the public to support us financially in any way. Together, we strive to create a healthier arts scene in Penang. 

檳城表演藝術中心一直以來努力推動檳城表演藝術的發展，但如同世界上任何一個藝術中心，我們也同樣面對資金短缺的問題。類似《開放夫妻》的演出製作費高達 RM 5000，以我們過去的經驗，單靠戲票收益很難達到收支平衡，更遑論支付本地演員更高的演出費，以讓他們可以繼續留在檳城劇場謀生。作為一個非盈利組織，我們懇求大眾出錢出力，讓我們一起為檳城劇場界打造更好的生存與發展環境。

SYNOPSIS of PERFECTLY MATCHED ?! | 《開放夫妻》故事簡介：

After being married for so many years, Bee Hong finds out that her husband, Lim Boon Leong, has had a string of affairs. Unsure what to do, she contemplates suicide. Her husband, however, comes up with a brilliant idea – to turn their marriage into an open relationship. Encouraged by the husband, she starts to date other men and finds that she actually enjoys it. But this time, the tables are turned. The husband finds himself feeling jealous…

一個願打，一個願挨，若是兩個一起打起來？！《開放夫妻》講述一對結婚多年的男女，男人愛採野花，女人梨花帶雨，男人為得熊掌與魚，說服女人接受開放關係。當女人開始開天拓地，並將寂寞芳心逐步外許，對象還遠比男人犀利，這時男人突然無法呼吸，試圖扳回頹勢哭天喊地，但該如何保護小小的自尊心，爾虞我詐高潮迭起。開放關係真有其事？搖滾教授真有其人？男人女人誰將會得到最後的勝利？！
