We are Leap to Engineering, a community service initiative created by third-year Mechanical Engineering students with the aim of sparking interest of engineering in students from underpriviledged families. On 20 to 21 May 2017, we will be inviting youngsters from PPR SrI Pantai to a two-day workshop where they will be exposed to activities which will allow them to actively learn engineering principles to design and build projects.
OUR BENEFICIARY
We will be inviting teenagers from PPR Sri Pantai, which is an low-cost housing area where a low income group of families live. More info be found on the official website here: Projek Perumahan Rakyat.
PREVIOUS PROJECTS
Taylor's University engineering students have been actively serving the community, generating interest in the younger generation to study Engineering by the bi-annual Engineering My Future in 2015 and 2016.
Our members have also been involved actively in community service initiatives. Melanie, who started Mission ABLE 2015, raised RM40,000 for a benefiaciary of a handicapped and disabled children's association in Klang. Ammar was also involved in the buildling of an Orang Asli home as part of the EPICHomes projects which had the team raise RM40,000 for the home by crowdfunding.
WE NEED YOUR HELP.
We are seeking for funds to support our event so that we can carry out the activities that we have planned for them. We are expecting at least 30 participants. Below is the budget breakdown:

Every RM1 goes a long way to helping these students discover what's engineering all about!
We may be unable to raise the full amount by the time of the event as we have only two weeks after the crowdfunding campaign is open for funding. We are hoping to spread the word through the Taylor's community and our friends so that we are able to meet our deadline.
