Greetings, amazing supporters! I'm thrilled to introduce myself as the Project Director of the 5 Loaves and 2 Fish Christmas Project, a heartwarming initiative organized by our ministry, LIGHT Ministr... See More
We are pleased to propose a community-oriented Christmas Project titled 5 LOAVES 2 FISH, aimed at providing essential support and spreading festive joy to the less fortunate in our community. This project will take place on 29 December 2023 at Rumah Bakti Harapan, Inanam, Sabah.

The reference to "5 Loaves and 2 Fish" comes from a biblical story found in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. In this story, Jesus is faced with a large crowd of people who are hungry. A young boy offers his lunch of five loaves of bread and two fish to Jesus. Through a miraculous act, Jesus multiplies the small offering to feed the entire multitude, with plenty of leftovers.
In the context of the 5 Loaves and 2 Fish Christmas Project, we draw inspiration from this biblical narrative to symbolize the transformative power of small, generous acts. Just as the boy's humble offering made a significant impact, we believe that even seemingly modest contributions can collectively create a profound positive change in the lives of those in need during the Christmas season. Each donation, whether big or small, becomes a part of a larger, miraculous effort to bring joy, hope, and sustenance to the community. Join us in multiplying the spirit of giving this Christmas!

Our decision to include an orphan house in the "5 LOAVES 2 FISH" Christmas Project is driven by compassion. We believe this choice embodies the core principles of our team's vision and mission, and here's why:

Fostering Hope and Love: Orphaned children often face unique challenges, including the absence of parental care and the need for a stable, nurturing environment. By choosing to serve at an orphan house, we aim to bring a ray of hope and love into their lives, demonstrating the transformative power of Christ's message.
Empowering the Next Generation: Our commitment to empowering the younger generation, as expressed in our mission, extends to orphaned children who deserve every opportunity for growth and development. By investing our time, resources, and love in these children, we can contribute to their personal and spiritual development, helping them grow into individuals who are empowered to create positive change in their lives and communities.
Community Engagement: Engaging with orphaned children extends the reach of our project into the broader community. It demonstrates to our local community that we are committed to addressing the needs of the most vulnerable, inspiring others to join our cause and fostering a sense of unity and collective responsibility.
Spreading the Message of Christ's Love: By choosing to serve at an orphan house, we exemplify the core message of Christ's love and compassion. This serves as a living testament to our dedication to bringing the Gospel to practical life, just as Jesus did in the biblical narrative of the "5 LOAVES 2 FISH."
Incorporating an orphan house into our project is a decision that not only aligns with our vision and mission but also allows us to make a profound impact on the lives of those who need it most. This choice reflects our commitment to both professional service and compassionate outreach, embodying the spirit of Christmas in the most meaningful way.

Funds raised not reaching the target: There is a risk that the funds raised may not reach the target set for the total estimated expenses. This could result in insufficient funds to complete the project as planned.
Excess funds and unproductive usage: On the other hand, if the funds raised exceed the targeted amount, there is a risk of unproductive usage of the accumulated funds. It is important to carefully manage and allocate these excess funds to avoid wasteful spending. Hence, the committee members have agreed to transfer the excess funds collected to Rumah Bakti Harapan to support their funding to build a house on their own land which is located at Kg. Lomawang Tuaran.
Barriers of communication among committee members: The committee members being segregated in different places poses a challenge in terms of communication. Due to work or school commitments, some members may find it difficult to actively participate in online meetings. This can hinder effective collaboration and decision-making within the project.
It is important to address these risks and challenges proactively by closely monitoring the funds raised, ensuring efficient utilization of resources, and finding alternative communication methods to overcome barriers among committee members.
