In order to complete the course assessment for GA30203 Corporate Finance, the final year students are required to create a crowdfunding project. SUNSHINE crowdfunding is to raise funds from kind-hearted people for the orphans and disabled people from “YouShan Disable Welfare Center” through mystartr online crowdfunding platform. This crowdfunding project is working together with five members of students from HE19 International Finance from Universiti Sabah Malaysia Labuan International Campus. We name our crowdfunding name as “SUNSHINE” is because we strongly believe SUNSHINE crowdfunding can be warm like the ray of sun which can provide emotional and physical needs for them, especially during current economic difficulties.

For 2 days, students from PPR Sri Pantai will undergo a workshop at Taylor's School of Engineering to spark their interest in engineering. We will be engaging them in hands-on activities that will help them actively learn engineering principles that can be utilized in designing their own simple engineering projects which they will then showcase at the end of the workshop.

The purpose of having this project is to help raise covid-19 awareness among the orang asli settlement. This is because the orang asli has no hygiene awareness even though the covid-19 has hit Malaysia hard for the past 2 years. The project is a contribution by PRO-NUR group to the Service-Learning Malaysia (SULAM) programme at the institutional level where students were provided with the chance to contribute and engage in direct community service. The project entails the fixing of solar lights at the Taman Layangan Islamic Cemetery, Labuan. The project will increase lighting, safety and convenience for visitors especially if they go there in the evening or at dawn. Taman Layangan Muslim Cemetery, or Tanah Perkuburan Islam Tanjung Layang-Layangan, is a primary Muslim cemetery in Labuan. Situated in the village of Layang-Layangan, the cemetery is convenient for the Muslim populace in the area and is frequented by family members to offer their respects to their departed loved ones. On Friday, 18 April 2025, our group went for a visit to the cemetery to evaluate the current conditions of the cemetery. From what we have observed, there are only four solar lights fitted along the cemetery stretch. The current lights are not enough to enable effective lighting, particularly for night visits, which is also a factor in the safety of the visitors. Additionally, the absence of adequate lighting is an issue for the elderly and others to move about safely, particularly during religious activities like tahlil or ziarah kubur. Therefore, this project proposes the installation of more solar-powered light units to further enhance the visibility and safety of the area. By offering a green technology lighting solution, we aim to create an even safer and more inviting area for all visitors, while encouraging the use of green technology in public areas. In coordination with the people of the locality, we will be conducting a community clean-up drive in addition to the installation. This two-fold activity successfully functions to both instill civic and spiritual values in the students and further strengthen the bond between the university and the community.
