I am very happy that we have this teacher voluntarily provide free English learning class to the villagers. The villagers of diverse ethnicity and age groups are benefited from her teaching and being able to converse in simple English.
It is rare because Malim Nawar is such a small village and rarely have visitors come from other states, what about from foreign countries? (Except when we hosted some backpackers or friends from overseas).
I think it is a good beginning. We should welcome more people to visit this village, provide more educational and learning opportunities to our people, being it students or adults. There is not much activities can be done in this place. It is unlike Kampar, a very happening town due to the establishment of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). It is always good if our youth are empowered with English language, so that they have more employment opportunities in the future.
I hope we could establish a foundation, maybe we name it as Malim Nawar Development Foundation, that provide grant opportunities for more young people to implement projects that are meaningful to the development of our children and youth, adults and elderly, culture, art, and most importantly the preservation of the environment from destruction. It also serves the objective of transforming this little town suitable for ecotourism, that boost the economy of this place.
That is why the Rainbow Bridge was initiated. It should not be just a colour thing in Malim Nawar. KTM, the railway company, will collaborate with us to put it in the Perak tourism record. What will happen next? We will wait and see.
