It has never be easy for us.
The fundraising processes has started since January 2014. We approached the shop owners, paints resellers, and villagers in Malim Nawar. We got the very first fund from Toccata Studio, established by Ng Chor Guan, who invited me to pitch about this project at his weekly CAKE project. We got our first kick-off fund for this project. Then, we have raised about RM600 from the villagers and got us the first batch of paints to paint the bridge.
Then, the news of this project has been published on local press. Well no fund came directly from the public. However the press article will make our fundraising process easier. Thanks to the ADUN Malim Nawar, Mr. Leong Cheok Keng, who organised the press conference for us.
We thought no one is going to support this project. Malim Nawar was so remote. Who cares? We have no clue but continue seek for support. The tile flooring Master quoted for RM10,000 for the flooring fees. We can't afford it. We have to find alternative ways.
Luckily the MML is willing sponsor the colour mosaic tiles, though our Mom said it is a bit of old fashioned. We are totally grateful for what has been given.
We will involve more volunteers to join this project. We hope your contributions could make all of us who are working on tiles and painting, easier.
Your fund will go to:
1. Logistic cost from Klang to Malim Nawar. (Unfortunately, the boss of the logistic company didn't give discount or waived the cost for us.)
2. Flooring and painting tools and materials.
3. Technical fees for flooring.
Let's keep our fundraising rolling. Your support is much needed.
Thank you every backers!
