ORIGIN Artistic director Boyz Chew Soon Heng consistently stands by the principle of "create, allow to sink in and precipitate, then recreate". This time, using “The Era” (this 2009 composition was co-created together with former drummers of Tsun Jin High School) as a blueprint, two drumming camps were held under the heading “Journey to D'March” for secondary schools and universities, which led to the idea of a "classics" concert. Through this platform, we hope that each drumming group can re-organize their past works of classics or (more matured) all-new creations, gradually bring up the artistic value of these pieces, in an effort of preservation and continuity, all while reaching more audiences. CONCEPT In 1988, musician Mr Tan Hooi Song and poet Mr Tan Chai Puan conceived the 24 Festive Drums cultural performance. Since then, drumming groups began to form in schools, nurturing and refining this newly emerged culture through their continual efforts of creating and composing. 28 years later, in this high-speed developing era, how many of these compositions can stand the test of time? In this multicultural era, what do the drummers leave behind as classics? Through "Dong Dak Beat" Drumming Concert, compositions are discovered and classics are recollected. Walk into the theatre and discover for yourself the power of the 24 Festive Drums--accumulated over the years. What could be its appeal, its charm? “The Blind Men and The Elephant, in Kuala Lumpur” is an interactive audio visual installation derived from this story. The installation is framed in an empty dark space, and the audio is composed from various sounds unique to one object, familiar to the people of Kuala Lumpur (For examples sound of public transport, ice-cream vendor, memorable advertisement song and etc... Audiences will be given a torchlight in their hand and invited to enter the empty darkroom as the role of ‘blind men’, visual projections will be triggered by the casted light while the audiences are in search for the deconstructed sounds. Audiences have to figure out the object (the elephant) by gathering hints from the deconstructed sound from their hearing experience. After that, they are welcomed to join into the process of seeking the truth by discussing and guessing the related object on online social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), and also offline at the exhibition. To ‘see’ the full unknown elephant, audience will need to check out Facebook page when the object (the answer) will be revealed!

The crowdfunding projects fruits fundraise is an initiative started by team MeCe composed of Taylor's University students to raise funds for the acquisition of fruits to be distributed in a breakfast package to students of Taylor’s University in an effort to raise awareness on the importance of eating fruits to obtain nutrients as well as to include fruits as part of their breakfast in the morning, as the team believes that due to the early schedule of some classes which starts at 8:00 am some students have opted to skip breakfast or have a very light breakfast in order to arrive early to campus whilst avoiding the traffic jam that usually starts at around 7:00 am. The fruits to be distributed will be well packaged as well as to include fruits that provide energy and nutrients to help the students of Taylor's University get through the 1st few hours of morning classes in Taylor's University right before lunchtime.

Welcome to the J&M Group from the faculty of Engineering, Taylor's Lakeside Campus. Brish Ramlochun, Arshia Soltanirad and Abumuslim Khujaev from Mauritius, Iran and Tajikistan; is a team which came up with the ideology behind the invention of placing up a parking tracker system around campus. The parking tracker system is a project where every single students as well as university staffs or visitors will be those who will benefit from the setting up of the idea. The project’s aim is to build a digital platform that tracks parking vacancy nearby Taylor’s university campus. This operation is accessed through an application that can be installed on smart devices such as tablets and smart phones. The established software will provide information regarding the location and availability of parking spots in designated parking areas around the campus. Furthermore, the application consists of a booking system that provide bookings based on the locations’ parking capacity. Once a booking has been made by the end user, a QR code is then generated that will act as a digital key to open the access gate. The access gate will feature a barcode scanner that will be used to read the unique code displayed on the application. Each device can make a single booking which will be valid for a specific timeframe. Missing out in the given time range to reach the booked parking will automatically cancel the pre-booking. Hence, this implementation will help all the users to grab their chances on booking a parking. After all, even though the booking had been cancelled, the user is allowed to re-book another parking but after a suggested time. However, the funds will be used to finance and put in place the said project. In order to go through with the project, a minimum fund of RM 1,000 is expected before the 23rd of November 2019. Every single contribution and support is most appreciated by the team.
